General Section Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the La Quinta on Rte. 46 in Fairfield unless other plans are made. Meetings begin at 6:00 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM and the program at 7:30 PM.

Ira Kaplan

A blogs, or web log, gives you a platform to have conversations with your readers. Creating a blog is simple, but filling it with content can be challenging. Ira Kaplan is not expert at blogging, but is expert at evaluating technology and making it understandable. In this informal presentation he will play the role of your computer literate friend of whom you asked the questions "What is a blog, how does it work, and do I need one?"

Topics will include:

- What is a blog
- Example of leading blogs
- Where do blogs live
- Software for creating blogs
- Creating the blog
- Getting readers
- RSS (Really Simple Syndication)
- Can you make money with a blog
- Will a blog help me get a job
- Blogs on blogs
