General Section Meeting Calendar
General Section Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the La Quinta on Rte. 46 in Fairfield unless other plans are made. Meetings begin at 6:00 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM and the program at 7:30 PM.
Professional Biographical Profile
Matt Benning
Matt Benning received his Masters of Science in Physical Chemistry from the Stevens Institute of Technology. He published his master's thesis after completing a summer internship with the Theoretical Chemistry group at the Argonne National Laboratory. His first job was with Amerada Hess Corporation where he was a chemist in the Quality Control laboratory responsible for the testing of incoming raw materials, outbound products, and RCRA environmental samples. Mr. Benning then started a long career at International Specialty Products where he progressed from a staff chemist to a research scientist in the ISP Analytical Research and Development department. His responsibilities included liquid chromatography test method development, validation, and transfer led to his involvement in the corporate audit program as an analytical laboratory quality systems subject matter expert. Mr. Benning was manager of the corporate quality assurance department with responsibility for ensuring the ISP product specifications complied with existing monographs. As manager of the ISP corporate quality assurance department he was responsible for upgrading the ISP corporate site from ISO 9002 to ISO 9001 and for implementing a global audit program.

has been a member of the American Chemical Society for 24 years and is
a senior member of the ASQ.
